Inspiring Maths Leadership

How can we lead and inspire our colleagues to embrace contemporary approaches to Mathematics that positions learners as active and courageous mathematicians?

This program is for a connected school team to build school wide capacity in leading excellence in mathematics learning and teaching for all young people.

Inspiring Maths Leadership is a partnership between a school team (school leader, maths or numeracy leader, a classroom focused teacher leader) and the EdPartnerships team. Learning is role related and is significantly embedded in the real-life context of your school.

The program focuses on the following areas of learning:

  • Becoming stronger leaders of mathematics learning: confidently leading in classrooms, teams and school communities.
  • Investigating and analysing local contexts: understanding community and context in order to lead in connected, strategic and researchful ways.
  • Understanding contemporary mathematics research: tapping into contemporary sources of research to inform our local Mathematics related thinking and practices.
  • Leading mathematics professional learning: inspiring our colleagues to embrace contemporary approaches to learning and teaching Mathematics.
  • Leading school-wide change: developing and articulating a compelling, local vision that guides strategic activation of your mathematics priorities.
