Inspiring Learner Agency

How might we strengthen the conditions for young people to become strong agentic learners?

The program is designed to strengthen and stretch our understandings about learner agency and to translate these understandings in the context of a local designed professional inquiry.

Inspiring Learner Agency is a partnership between a passionate team of school colleagues and the EdPartnerships team, who together explore and investigate learner agency and apply these new learnings in the context of their local school community.

The program focuses on the following areas of learning:

  • Deeply understanding self, others and community; shifting and shaping learner and professional identities
  • Creating spaces of belonging and connectedness; attending to the social, relational and material contexts for learning
  • Co-creating the curriculum landscape of learning; co-design for learning that is authentic and relevant to the lives of learners
  • Partners in learning and leading; creating dynamic learning communities

Overview

The program is for a team of 2-4 colleagues - leaders, teacher leaders and teachers - who are interested in exploring and investigating learner agency in their school community.
