Biography

Karen began her teaching career at Yallourn Technical school as a Maths and Science teacher. Working in this environment she realised quite early in her career that teachers needed to be responsive and creative if students were to be sufficiently engaged and motivated to develop critical skills and understandings in Maths and Science.

Throughout her career Karen has demonstrated an enduring passion for teaching and learning working in various schools across Inner Gippsland.

Most recently Karen was Principal of Mirboo North Secondary College.

She is currently a Student Achievement Manager working with 12 Secondary schools within the Inner Gippsland area, supporting them to facilitate Literacy and Numeracy Intervention programs.
