Biography

Building sustainable learning communities: Vicky has extensive, active experience in enabling research and participatory learning in diverse Primary/Secondary schools (metropolitan and regional), Universities/TAFE Colleges, and private and public organisations. Through particular processes, significant developments are achieved in partnership with students, staff, teacher leaders and school leaders. Key areas of focus include uncovering, documenting and progressing student and teacher understandings; innovative ways of learning, reflecting, and expressing learning; noticing, supporting and expanding successful processes.

Generating and enhancing the short and long-term transformation required for sustainable learning communities is consistently achieved.

Professional development for teachers and school leaders: In collaboration with teachers and school leaders, Vicky has contributed to, and supported the evolution of school curriculum and learning architecture.

Teachers and students with whom Vicky works consistently observe enrichment of perceptions, practices and motivation in themselves and their peers. Significant growth in confidence and observational aptitude is documented, along with knowledge building and sharing, innovative learning strategies and capacity for reflection and expression.

Vicky’s broad experience with people of diverse ages, backgrounds, languages, and life experience - from street and working children in India, environmental organisations in Brazil, to corporate professionals in Melbourne - has informed her responsive approach that is sensitive to the qualities, needs and desires of each individual and organisation with whom she works. She has worked on contracts with various organisations include the Arts Victoria’s Artists in Schools program and Extended School Residencies; the Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission and the City of Melbourne, to uncover and present children’s voices to inform policy, public interaction, and approach in governance.

Presentations of outcomes include book publication; exhibitions in public spaces such as Federation Square, Art Gallery of Ballarat, Benalla Art Gallery; seminars/forums/workshops; educational films and resources.

Professional Arts Practice: The careful observation and reflective inquiry that Vicky brings to every project is also evident in her professional arts practice, which in turn expands the

Vicky has worked in a learning partnership with five EdPartnerships Schools (Derrimut PS; Mt Clear PS; Gleneagles SC; Sunshine PS; Dinjerra PS) and several Artists in Schools Programs.
