Evidence Inquiry Spiral

Literature Reviews

A review of current literature focused on mentors in education settings from across international and Australian jurisdictions. This resulted in a paper: A review of research on the role of mentors and the process of mentoring early career teachers. Commissioned by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (2021).

An international literature review on learner agency and voice for the Department of Education and Training, Victorian. The review informed the development of Amplify: Empowering students through voice, agency and leadership (DET, 2019).

The review resulted in two short extracts prepared as papers for use by schools:

  • What is student agency?
  • What is the rationale and evidence base for student agency?
